Edward Lee Short, had a big heart

Edward Lee Short, 54, of Gumboro, passed away Thursday, Oct. 13, 2022, at Delaware Hospice Center.  

Eddie was born in Seaford to the late William C. Short and Norma Oliphant Short, who survives him. 

He was a graduate of Sussex Central High School Class of 1985.  Eddie worked in construction and also drove a truck for Mountaire. He enjoyed hunting deer and rabbits and visiting and checking on his friends.  Eddie will be remembered for his friendly and easy-going personality, as well as his big heart.  He will be missed by all who knew him.

Eddie is survived by his mother, Norma Short of Gumboro; one brother, Timothy Short and his wife Kara of Laurel; and one nephew, Evan Short.  He is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and many, many friends.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 18, at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, where friends may call from noon to 1 p.m. for viewing and visitation.  Pastor Chuck Reynolds will officiate.  Interment will follow at Line Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Eddie’s memory to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE  19963.
