The Second Annual “Get Down in Town” was held March 29-31 in Rehoboth Beach. The event, created by Azura Clothing owner Alyssa Titus, was a huge success last year and this year it expanded.
Shops downtown paired up with local restaurants to entice shoppers to enjoy the food samples and shop for bargains only offered Friday night. The three-day event began with a fashion show by the Southern Delaware Rollergirls modeling fashions available in Rehoboth.
A mainly local crowd attended the Friday night food and shopping event while kids showed up Saturday to enjoy a craft fair. Azura, with WSFS Bank, Hobo’s Restaurant and the Cape Gazette sponsored the event with all proceeds from wristband sales, needed to sample the food, went to Southern Delaware Therapeutic and Recreational Horseback Riding, Delaware Guidance Services and the Cape Henlopen High School Booster Clubs.
Shown enjoying some of Dos Locos’ fish tacos inside the Thunderbird Shop are sisters Rita Deakyne, left, and Karen Dailey.
