Ogre’s Grove in Milton hosted its annual Free Comic Book Day May 6, a chance for comic book lovers to score a free book.
Free Comic Book Day is a national promotion by the comic book industry that usually happens the first weekend in May and is typically tied to a major comic book film release. In this year’s case, the special day coincided with the release of Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” in movie theaters.
Comic retailers are also encouraged to hold additional events in connection with the day, and in Ogre’s Grove’s case, that involved Batman cosplayers led by Dana Webb as Harley Quinn, a wheel spin to win prizes, and appearances by artists Matt Battaglia and Blair Webb.
