Second woman files lawsuit against Jimmie Allen
A second anonymous woman has filed a federal lawsuit against Milton native and country star Jimmie Allen, alleging that he sexually assaulted her in a Las Vegas hotel room.
The lawsuit, filed by Jane Doe 2 in U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee June 9, names Allen, his touring company, Aadyn’s Dad Touring Inc., and Allen’s security man, Charles Hurd, as defendants. The woman has accused Allen of battery, assault, invasion of privacy and intentional infliction of emotional distress, as well as counts of negligence against Hurd and ADT.
According to the lawsuit, the woman met Allen on a flight from Sacramento to Nashville in May 2022. The suit says the woman and Allen stayed in touch. After a few months, Allen and the woman agreed to meet in Las Vegas, where Allen was scheduled for several public appearances in July 2022.
The suit says during those appearances, Allen referred to the woman as his girlfriend. Following Allen’s appearances, the suit says, Allen, the woman and Hurd went to the Cosmopolitan Hotel. The woman had planned to stay in a separate room. Allen invited her to his room, where Hurd also was, and told her she could hang out while they arranged for her room. Allen and the woman went out on the balcony of Allen’s suite. Allen and the woman kissed and then went into the bedroom where they had sex. After the encounter, the suit says, Allen passed out on the bed.
After that, the suit says, the woman walked past the bedroom closet, where she noticed a cellphone with the camera pointing toward the bed. The woman grabbed the phone, stopped the recording and tried to delete the video. She then left the room and took the phone with her.
Upon returning home, she took Allen’s phone to her local police department and reported what happened to her. The police there said they would report the incident to the Las Vegas Police Department.
This is the second Jane Doe to come forward alleging Allen sexually assaulted her. In May, a former manager of Allen’s accused him of rape and sexual harassment. In a statement to the trade publication Variety, which broke the story May 11, Allen admitted to having a sexual relationship with the woman but said it was consensual, and denied the accusations of rape and sexual misconduct. In his statement, Allen said the relationship with the woman, who was his day-to-day manager, lasted two years. During that time, he said she never accused him of any impropriety and that once their relationship ended, she hired a lawyer and started asking for money.
In response to the suit and the Variety story, Allen was suspended by his record label, BBR Music Group, and by his management company, UTA. Allen was also removed as the commencement speaker for Delaware State University’s graduation ceremony and was removed from the lineup at the annual CMA Fest. It was also recently reported that Allen and his wife, Alexis, were getting divorced.
Following the first set of allegations going public, Allen posted a story on Instagram apologizing to his estranged wife, and made another saying “We gonna be alright. This too shall pass.” He has made no other public comments regarding the case, and has not filed any legal briefs in either of the cases.
