SOLA3 welcomes Rick Hardy as treasurer

July 7, 2023

The board of Save Our Lakes Alliance 3 recently announced it has unanimously elected Rick Hardy as treasurer.

Hardy is a longtime resident of Dewey Beach and has held important positions in the U.S. and abroad. Prior to owning and operating Coho’s Market in Rehoboth Beach, he worked for IKEA in global and U.S. human resource management positions, as well as business controller and internal audit manager. Prior to that, he was a senior auditor for Deloitte & Touche in Philadelphia. He holds a bachelor of science degree in business administration from Temple University.

Hardy will also organize volunteers to join him for water-testing efforts in Rehoboth’s lakes, a new project SOLA3 is undertaking with the University of Delaware.

Sallie Forman, SOLA3 founder and president, said, “We are thrilled to have Rick join us as treasurer. His outstanding career managing finances for international and U.S. companies plus his strong ties to our community make him eminently qualified to serve as treasurer and an officer of SOLA3. Rick succeeds Dan Payne, our longest-serving treasurer. We are most grateful for Dan’s expertise in growing and managing our assets.”

Continuing on the board are Forman as president, Tom Childers as vice president, Diane Hanson as secretary, and Susan Gay and Jan Konesey as directors.

Founded in 2004, SOLA3 is the only nonprofit, all-volunteer organization dedicated to restoring, protecting and maintaining the three freshwater lakes located in the Rehoboth Beach area: Silver Lake, Lake Comegys and Lake Gerar. For more information, go to sola3.org.
