Art History in Action course to start Sept. 25
Rehoboth Art League will offer Art History in Action, a unique course set to meet from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Mondays, Sept. 25 to Oct. 30, at 12 Dodds Lane, Henlopen Acres.
This course is designed as a hybrid lecture with visuals as well as studio time for participants to develop their skills in composition, technique and color theory using examples from art history.
The class is for those who wonder why the Impressionists rebelled against the academics, how the Renaissance happened and why Jackson Pollack is important.
Attendees can learn to make art like the masters. Beginning students will work with selected exercises. Experienced students will confer with the instructor, local artist David Hollander. The cost of the six-week course is $235 for members and $270 for nonmembers.
To register, go to rehobothartleague.org or call 302-227-8408, Ext. 112.
