Coastal Chronicles photo exhibit to open with reception Nov. 3
The Coastal Camera Club, in collaboration with the City of Rehoboth Beach, announced its latest photography exhibition, Coastal Chronicles: A Photographic Journey Around Rehoboth, will open with a reception from 3 to 4:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 3, at Rehoboth Beach City Hall. Art enthusiasts and the public are invited to explore the visual beauty of the area as captured by talented club photographers.
From sunrises to sunsets, iconic Rehoboth locations, seascapes, and an array of striking and cute wildlife, this exhibition captures the essence of the area. These remarkable visuals, all photographed within a 20-mile radius of Rehoboth Beach, highlight the area’s natural beauty and reflect the diverse interests and talents of club members.
A curated selection of 15 works by 11 Coastal Camera Club members forms this exhibition. Featured photographers are Nancy Allen, Linda Benzon, Scott Becque, Terri Campbell, Bill Crnkovich, Sharon Denny, Peter Duff, Edward Goldenberg, Steve Licata, Andy Rubenstein and Samantha Scullen.
Lynne Coan, city communications manager, and Leslie Sinclair, Coastal Camera Club member, comprised the juror team. Their challenging task involved selecting just 15 photographs for this exhibit. The resulting collection takes viewers on a photographic journey through the local area and captures Rehoboth’s natural allure.
The exhibit is part of the Art in City Hall program that provides opportunities for artists to exhibit their work with the twin goals of supporting the local arts community and exposing the public to locally made works of art.
"These photos really reflect the beauty, personality and wild side of our Rehoboth-area community. The city is grateful that Coastal Camera Club members are able to capture that and are willing to share their photos with the larger community. We’re honored that city hall can serve as a backdrop for sharing art with the community,” said Coan. “Exhibitions like Coastal Chronicles give our community yet another reason to gather at city hall. We appreciate the Coastal Camera Club members for sharing their talent with the city. We invite everyone to visit and experience the beauty captured through their lenses."
Joanne Tramposch, Coastal Camera Club president, said, "One of the many benefits our members enjoy is the opportunity to display their talents and sell their work through exhibits like this one. It's a testament to the creativity and dedication of our community."
