“It was really exciting to play in this rivalry game,” said Mariner eight-grader Blair Chubb. “It’s definitely something for us to to look forward next year, playing together as teammates. This is a rivalry game with a lot of buildup, but after the game we’re friends and teammates.”
“It’s amazing to play against great competition,” said Beacon eighth-grader Mikaela Gordon. “We always look forward to playing Mariner, and we work hard to get ready for them. It’s definitely going to be a transition to playing at the high school next year. But it’s going to be fun, because after this competition, we are all best friends again.”
