Senior awards held at Cape

The Cape Henlopen High School Class of 2025 was celebrated with the Senior Awards May 29 in the Cape theater.
Collectively, the group was awarded nearly $6 million in scholarships and earned more than 30 acceptances to colleges with admissions rates below 20%.
The Class of 2025 is a diverse group, with graduates going on to attend nearly 80 different colleges across the nation, as well as culinary school, trade school and cosmetology school. Twenty students are answering the call to serve by either enlisting or attending U.S. military academies.

Anahi Andrade-Mendoza receives the F.H & L.O. Russell Scholarship and the University of Pittsburgh Panther Pride Award from Delaware Community Foundation’s Mike DiPaolo and Cape Assistant Principal Joshua Cubb and Principal Kristin DeGregory.

Kaniyah Askia receives the Culinary Institute of America Excellence Award from Cape Assistant Principal Joshua Cubb and Principal Kristin DeGregory.

Anna Beck receives the Cape Henlopen High School NHS Award, Carson Scholar 2024, Coastal Georgetown Branch of the American Association of University Women Scholarship, Col. David Hall Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution Scholarship, Dewey Beach Lions Club John Waples Educational Scholarship, Janosik Family Scholarship, Post 7447 Auxiliary Scholarship, Post 7447 Scholarship, President's Award for Educational Excellence, State of Delaware VFW Voice of Democracy Award, State of Delaware Secretary of Education Scholar Award, University of Delaware Honor Grant, University of Delaware Marichu C. Valencia Scholarship, VFW 7447 District 4 Voice of Democracy Scholarship Winner and the Winnberg Book Scholarship from Irish Society of DelMarVa.

Cardin Benjamin receives the Cape Henlopen High School 2025 Male Athlete of the Year, Goldey Beacom College Joseph West Jones Scholars Fund, Goldey Beacom College SAGE Scholar and the President's Award for Educational Excellence. Ava Calciano receives the Cape Henlopen High School 2025 Female Athlete of the Year, University of Connecticut Academic Excellence Scholarship and a University of Connecticut athletic scholarship from Cape Assistant Principal Joshua Cubb and Principal Kristin DeGregory.

Abigail Bradley receives the Dewey Beach Lions Club John Waples Educational Scholarship, President's Award for Educational Excellence and the Wescoat Memorial Scholarship from Cape Assistant Principal Joshua Cubb and Principal Kristin DeGregory.

Ezequiel Baltazar-Gomez receives the Cape Henlopen Elks Lodge 2540 Scholarship from Dr. John Kreitzer and Marty Schreck.

Jenna Calhoun receives the Cape Henlopen Support Staff Association Scholarship, Dewey Beach Lions Club JROTC Award, Long Neck AmVets Post 22 Scholarship, the Senior JROTC Dewey Beach Triathlon Appreciation Scholarship and the Village Improvement Association Good Citizenship Award.

Noah Calhoun receives the Gladys Wilkins Agricultural Scholarship, the John M. Roca Memorial Scholarship, Mountaire Farm to Table Scholarship, President's Award for Educational Excellence and the Village Improvement Association Good Citizenship Award.

Kathryn Cerf receives the Delaware School Nutrition Association Scholarship from Stacy Davis-Smith and Stephanie Sherman and the University of Delaware Presidential Scholarship from Cape Assistant Principal Joshua Cubb and Principal Kristin DeGregory.

Zane Coulbourne receives the Albright College Achievement Award and the Albright College Connection Award from Cape Assistant Principal Joshua Cubb and Principal Kristin DeGregory.

Bodie Frederick receives the Faith in Human Spirit William Degnan Award from Tim Bamforth and the University of Delaware Merit Scholarship from Cape Assistant Principal Joshua Cubb and Principal Kristin DeGregory.

Abigail Crouch receives the University of South Carolina Merit Award from Cape Assistant Principal Joshua Cubb and Principal Kristin DeGregory.

Dalen Daminger receives the Dewey Beach Lions Club John Waples Educational Scholarship and the James J. Kiernan Memorial Scholarship from Kathy Newcomb and Maryellen Kiernan and the University of Delaware Presidential Scholarship from Cape Assistant Principal Joshua Cubb and Principal Kristin DeGregory.
