Sussex Academy is set to begin the 2025-26 academic year with phased-in first days for students.
For students entering kindergarten, sixth and ninth grades, the first day of school will be Tuesday, Sept. 2. The first day for all other grades will be Wednesday, Sept. 3, when all students in kindergarten through 12th grade will report to school.
Sussex Academy elementary operating hours are 8:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., with the doors open to students at 8:05 a.m. The middle and high school operating hours are 8 a.m. to 2:55 p.m., with doors open to students at 7:30 a.m.
All students are invited to meet their teachers and tour their schools during open houses Thursday, Aug. 28. The elementary open house is set for 1:30 to 3 p.m., and the secondary open house is set for 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Following school tours, all families are invited to a kickoff celebration from 3:30 to 5 p.m. at The Nest, located on the secondary campus.
The 2025-26 Sussex Academy calendar is available at tinyurl.com/mr3swnjd. Students will have their first no-school day Friday, Sept. 12, which is an inservice day for school employees. The first school board meeting of the year will be held at 4 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 17.
