Milton man faces strangulation charge

A Milton man has been charged with strangulation and other offenses.

Police said they responded to a home at 2:54 a.m., Sept. 5, on Tilney Street in Milton for a reported assault involving a weapon. Upon arrival, police said they took Brandon Barto, 23, into custody and charged him with strangulation or suffocation, second-degree assault and first-degree unlawful imprisonment.

Barto was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 2 and was issued a no-contact order with the victim. He was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $72,000 cash bail.
