The Masons of the Grand Lodge of Delaware awarded a charter Oct. 7, to Independence Lodge No. 76.
Independence is the first new Masonic Lodge to be founded in Delaware since 1978. It will meet at 11 a.m., the third Tuesday of each month, except July and August. In the spring, meetings will be held at the new Masonic Temple on Sweetbriar Road in Lewes.
In attendance at the charter presentation are (l-r) Anthony Valenti, Independence Lodge treasurer; Dean Disharoon, senior warden; James Hanby Sr., grand master of Masons in Delaware; Ronald Ferraro, master; Richard McTheny, deputy grand master; Steven McCarthy, junior warden; George Andreas, marshal; and John Turansky, senior deacon.
