Beebe Healthcare and the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association are once again teaming up to bring the annual Delaware Stroke Summit to Sussex County. The free event builds awareness about the prevalence of stroke and provides people with the right information and resources to prevent it. The event is offered at no cost, and will be held on Friday, Dec. 5, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Hyatt Place in Dewey Beach, located at 1301 Coastal Highway. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a series of educational sessions and presentations, designed to educate about the risk factors associated with stroke, the warning signs and symptoms, and the steps that can be taken to prevent a stroke. Additionally, participants are encouraged to enjoy breakfast and take advantage of free health screenings offered by Beebe’s Community Outreach Team, in the morning prior to the start of opening remarks. Community Members are to register here: https://tinyurl.com/zhv37jua.
David A. Tam, MD, MBA, CPHE, FACHE, President & CEO of Beebe Healthcare, and E. Thomas Harvey, III, Leadership Chair of the American Heart Association’s Delaware Board of Directors, will serve as hosts for this event, and will offer perspective during opening remarks.
