Sante D. Perogine, faithful church member

Sante D. Perogine, 83, of Lewes, passed away Sunday, Nov. 30, 2025, at Accent Care Hospice, Wilmington. Sante was born July 11, 1942, in Camden, N.J., son of the late Florie J. and Emma Giacomini Perogine. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Marie (Kozicki) Perogine, Jan. 18, 2011.

His skill as a machinist began with the DuPont company at the Wilmington Shops location and later with W. L. Gore and Associates, where he retired as a supervisor.

His love of the water and the beaches of southern Delaware as well as many local golf courses gave him great enjoyment as he boated and crabbed the waterways as well as walking the links. He was a devoted member of Midway Assembly of God Church near Lewes, where he worshipped regularly with many of his close church friends.

Sante is survived by his children, Sandralynn Campbell (Jim) of Newark, David Perogine (Suzanne) of Middletown, and Michael Perogine (Maria) of Harbeson; five grandchildren, David, Stephen and Elena Perogine, and Anthony and Daniel DeStafano; and two great-grandchildren, Adrian and Julian Perogine.

Also, surviving is a stepson, Dana “Tony” A. Teoli (Michele) of Bear; and a step-grandson, Michael Teoli of Newark; his first wife, Joan Perogine (Retkovis) of Gibbstown, N.J.; and his devoted companion, Cathy Gorman of Georgetown.

Memorial services will be at noon, Monday, Dec. 8, at Midway Assembly of God Church, 34677 Old Postal Lane, Lewes, with Pastor Gary Ross officiating, where a visitation will begin at 11 a.m.
