Jack was the youngest of five siblings and grew up in Boothwyn, Pa. He graduated from Chichester High School in 1953, joined the Army, and a short time later got married. When Jack was discharged from the Army, he went to Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pa., where he got a bachelor’s degree in business. He purchased a home in Aston, Pa., in 1963 and raised his family, and later his grandchildren, until 2012. During the warmer months, he would boat, fish and crab at his second home near Rehoboth Bay.
Jack and his wife owned and operated National Income Tax in Media, Pa., with other locations in Aston, Pa., Woodlyn, Pa., and Prospect Park, Pa., for over 30 years. Jack loved to serve his community. He was an active member of Rose Tree Media Optimist Club. He was active in the Scottish Rite as a 32nd Degree Mason. He was raised to the Master Mason Degree Feb. 13, 1982, at Edward F. Roberts Lodge No. 772; after several Lodge consolidations he was a member of Penn Lodge No. 709 in Concordville, Pa., at the time of his death. When Jack relocated to Sussex County, he transferred his Eastern Star membership to Unity Chapter No. 16 in Lewes.
When he relocated to Lewes, he was active in his community and started playing cards every week with a new group of friends in his neighborhood. Once a month, he would meet his older brother at the casino. Jack loved his family and treasured his friends. He was always ready for a party, get-together or adventure. Jack was the kind of person who left a lasting impression on those he met and those who knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be held later in early 2026 in Sussex County. The family will share details when arrangements are finalized.
