Elizabeth Florence Rotar, woman of faith

Elizabeth Florence Rotar (née Glockner), 91, of Dover, passed peacefully Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2026. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John. She was the devoted mother of Lea Ann Tymon (Kevin), John G. (Joanie) and Lisa Bertone (David), loving grandmother of Evan (Lori), Danielle (Jimmy), Kyle (Amber), Brendan, Elaina (Max) and Grace (Anthony), and great-grandmother of Sophia, Emma, Charlotte, George and Henry.

Elizabeth was born in Hartford, Conn., and raised in Hoboken, N.J. She moved to Hillsdale, N.J., in 1959. She worked for the Borough of Hillsdale for 28 years before retiring as Borough Clerk in 1994. She was active in her faith as a eucharistic minister and lector, an avid birdwatcher, and loved to shop!

Elizabeth was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be missed by all who knew her.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Feb. 13, at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, 152 Tulip Drive, Lewes, DE 19958. A visitation will be held from 10 to 10:30 a.m. A repast will be held at the parish center following the mass at noon.

Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, 152 Tulip Drive, Lewes, DE 19958. Burial will be private.
