H.O. Brittingham Elementary fourth-graders in Jessica Ryan and Courtney Macchione’s English language arts classes recently welcomed families to the school for student presentations showcasing their learning.
As part of an American Reading Company ELA unit, students researched animal adaptations and habitats, and then confidently presented their findings to an audience of family members and guests.
The presentations highlighted students’ research skills, public speaking abilities and growing understanding of how animals adapt to their environments. The event also provided a meaningful opportunity to strengthen home-to -chool connections, as family members were able to see firsthand the academic growth and enthusiasm students bring to their learning.
