Linda Lou Wilson, devoted wife, mother, grandmother

Linda Lou (Mitchell) Wilson, 74, passed away Thursday, Feb. 5, 2026. Born July 14, 1951, in Millsboro, she was the daughter of the late George Mitchell and Margaret (Leggs) Mitchell, and resided in Georgetown.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, George “Wally” Mitchell, Grace Arvey, Dorothy Ann Melson, Gregory Mitchell and Marshall Mitchell.

Linda is survived by her loving husband, Horace Glenwood Wilson; her daughter, Carol Ann Wilson (Rodney Wilson Sr.); her grandchildren, Rodney Wilson Jr. and Colby Wilson (Alexis Wills); her sisters, Norma Jean Hastings and Sharon Eaton; her sister-in-law, JoAnn Mitchell; and many extended family members and friends.

A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Linda was the matriarch of the stubbornness that ran through her family, balanced by the kindest and most caring heart. After retiring, she found great joy traveling the country with her grandchildren as they showed goats and enjoyed helping raise bottle-baby goats.

A memorial service will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Friday, Feb. 13, at Short Funeral Services, Georgetown.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.

Her grandchildren were her greatest joy, and they will carry her spirit, lessons, and stubbornness with them always.
