Event proceeds to support Miriam’s Table charity
March 20, 2026

Miriam's Table Beach Bingo hit the $20,000 milestone Feb. 28, during the organization's sixth bingo fundraiser. The sold-out event sponsored by Lewes Lions Club hosted 240 bingo players. Funds raised will provide 29,036 meals for the children served by the Lewes-based charity.

Miriam's Table is a childhood nutrition center in the Democratic Republic of Congo that has been serving before-school meals for 11 years. The nonprofit organization established by Sue and Ed Keefer of Lewes has an annual budget of $65,000. The program feeds 350 children and also supplies parasitic vaccines and mosquito netting to the community. The organization has 11 full-time Congolese staff members.

Funds are raised and directed by Sue Keefer and a dedicated board that includes Reber Whitner, Stephanie Manos, Mike Tyler, Marcia Vietrogoski, Deb Len and Darlene Ford.

Two Dining Out With Miriam events are scheduled this spring: Wednesday, March 25, at Grain on the Rocks in the Cape May-Lewes Ferry Terminal, and Thursday, April 23, at Henlopen City Oyster House on Wilmington Avenue in Rehoboth Beach.
