Two charged in Georgetown drug bust

Two Georgetown residents face felony drug charges March 20 after a drug bust.

Members of the Sussex County Drug Unit, Sussex County Governor’s Task Force, the Delaware State Police Special Operations Response Team, and Georgetown Police Department executed a search warrant at a home in the 200 block of East North Street in Georgetown in connection with the distribution of illegal narcotics.

During the search warrant, police said, Jahlier Pettyjohn, 24, was seen exiting the residence through a window but was quickly taken into custody. Gabriella Tambourelli, 35, was detained in the residence without incident. A child was also in the residence at the time, police said.

Inside the home, police said they found about 12.02 grams of heroin; 7.94 grams of crack cocaine; 2.74 grams of cocaine; seven Actavis pills (Buprenorphine Hydrochloride); 43 Suboxone films; digital scales; a Mason jar and microwave with cocaine residue; a Pyrex measuring cup with white powdery residue; drug paraphernalia; and $809 in suspected drug proceeds.

Pettyjohn and Tambourelli were taken to Troop 4 where they were charged with felony unlawful to knowingly operate or attempt to operate a clandestine laboratory; second-degree conspiracy; endangering the welfare of a child by committing a drug offense with child in the dwelling; and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Pettyjohn was also charged with manufacture, deliver, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, tier 3; manufacture, deliver, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance; and possession of a controlled substance, tier 3 and tier 1. Tambourelli was also charged with maintaining a drug property, and four counts of possess, consume a controlled or counterfeit substance except human growth hormone without a prescription.

Both were arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2. Pettyjohn was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $34,000 secured bond; Tambourelli was released on $17,000 unsecured bond.
