George James McHale, retired chef
George James McHale, 83, of Millsboro, went to heaven Sunday, Sept. 3, 2012, while at home and surrounded by his loving family. Mr. McHale was born in Scranton, Pa., the son of the late James J. and Margaret Ann (Rorick) McHale. Mr. McHale served in the Army during the Korean War.
Mr. McHale was an executive chef for the Dana Corporation in Pottstown Pa. and a member of the First Baptist Church of Lewes.
He was an avid golfer, enjoyed playing and watching sports, had a good sense of humor and loved to sing songs with his family.
In addition to both parents, he was preceded in death by a brother: Arthur McHale Sr.
He is survived by his wife, Marie L. (Heinz) McHale; seven children: Mary Jo Gemma, James J. McHale, Katharina M. Haraschak, Theresa M. Moonitz, Margaret A Havrilla, Francine L. Ramseyer and Kenneth J. McHale; two brothers: James J. and John P. McHale; 18 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 8, in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal Street, Milton, where friends may call after 9 a.m. Interment will be in Henlopen Memorial Park, Milton.
