The Walk to Defeat ALS, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, often called Lou Gehrig’s disease, was held Sept. 15 on the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk.
Over 30 teams of walkers, supporting loved ones and friends, ranging from two-person team members to over 70 team members, turned out to help defeat ALS. The walk will help fund research, patient services, advocacy and awareness of the disease. Last year over $100,000 was raised at the Rehoboth Beach walk.
Waiting at the Bandstand for the walk to begin are Joe’s Troopers from Lewes. Shown are (l-r) Ed Riggins, Vietnam veteran Joe McNally and Carol Riggins.
