69th Miss Delaware Scholarship Pageant set June 10-12 at Rollins Center

The 69th Annual Miss Delaware Scholarship Pageant, starring Heather Lehman, Miss Delaware 2009, will be held Thursday, Friday and Saturday, June 10, 11 and 12, in the Rollins Center at Dover Downs Hotel & Casino, Dover.

This year, 16 talented young women from throughout the state will compete for the coveted title of Miss Delaware 2010, scholarship awards and the opportunity to represent Delaware at the 2011 Miss America Pageant in Las Vegas next January.

Preliminary competitions will be held at 7:30 p.m., June 10 and 11, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. Contestants will compete in the areas of talent, evening wear, on-stage question and physical fitness in swimsuit, as well as a private interview with the judges.

Both nights will also feature Delaware’s Hottest Talent Competition beginning at 7 p.m. For information on how to compete in the Talent Competition, call Kenney at 302-245-2755.

Final competition with the announcement of the top 10 and crowning of Miss Delaware 2010 will be held Saturday, June 12 at 7:30 p.m. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.

The three-night event will feature the talents of Lehman; Junnie Cross, Miss Delaware 2000; Becky Bledsoe, Miss Delaware 2005; Michelle Harris Anderson, Miss Delaware 1995; and Katelynn Mayers, Miss Delaware’s Outstanding Teen 2010. The pageant emcee will be Susan Powell, Miss America 1981.

Tickets are now on sale and may be purchased by calling Dover Downs Hotel & Casino VIP Services at 800-711-5882 for reserved tables and riser seats. For corporate tables of 10 only, call Mark Zirilli at 302-857-3208. Tickets for June 10 are $20 for all seats.

Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis with the exception of reserved tables. Tickets for June 11 are $30 for reserved tables and riser seating, and $350 for corporate tables.

Tickets are also available for the Miss Delaware 2010 After Party Celebration honoring the newly crowned Miss Delaware 2010 and the Miss Delaware 2010 contestants.

The event will be held immediately following the pageant in The Rollins Center Ballroom, Dover Downs Hotel & Casino. The cost is $20 per person and includes light hors d’oeuvres, soda, coffee, and tea. A cash bar will be available.
