Viva Italy, Plant-based Cooking and Flavorful Fish among offerings
April 17, 2014

Chef Kris Etze, owner of Abra…ca…dinner, has announced her latest batch of cooking classes for spring/summer 2014. Etze, a former public school teacher, continues her love of teaching with her seasonal cooking classes that complement her busy personal chef business.

When she retired from teaching and moved to Lewes in 2001, her passion inspired her to create Abra...ca…dinner! Personal Chef Service.

Although putting great meals on the table for clients is her primary goal, Etze also loves teaching her small hands-on cooking classes.

A sampling of new classes include the following:

Viva Italy! 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, May 3: Students will create an Antipasto platter with pickled veggies and authentic flavors. The menu will consist of a delicious fresh and healthy eggplant lasagna and baby spinach with pine nuts and raisins, a Catalan dish. Italian Sangria made with Chianti and Prosecco will be a winner. Fee is $55.

Plant-Based Eating, 6 to 8 p.m., Mondays, May 5 and 19: Participants will explore the value of plant-based meals and learn how to incorporate more fruits and vegetables into their diets. The focus will be on how to include healthful ingredients with simple tips to make mealtimes easy and less stressful. Fee is $110 for both sessions.

Be Your Own Personal Chef! 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, June 7

Participants will take home 16 individual or family-style servings of four different entrees, freshly prepped and ready for the week or the freezer. Bring tote bags.  Ingredients, instructions, recipes, containers and packaging will be provided. Fee is $125 per person. Register early to assure a spot and inform of any food intolerance when registering.

Guests Coming? Oh My! 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, June 14

Fresh Flavorful Fish! 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, June 28

Simple to prepare, fish cooked properly becomes flavorful, satisfying and memorable. Learn how restaurants prepare it so well, day after day. Participants will learn how to demystify the process and talk about selection of fresh available fish. Fee is $55.

Cooking classes are held in Etze's kitchen and range from six to eight students. Each hands-on class lasts 90 minutes to two hours. Classes are limited, so register early. For information call 302-228-6125, or go to www.abracadinner.com.
