Edward J. “Eddie” Chalabala, commercial fisherman

Edward J. “Eddie” Chalabala 63, of Lincoln, passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at home.

He was born in Reutte, Austria, son of the late Karl and Anna (Brugger) Chalabala.

Eddie was a manager with Baker Petroleum for over 30 years and was also proud of being a commercial fisherman. He enjoyed being outdoors, especially, fishing, simply being on the water, farming, gardening or tending to his animals. He was a dedicated, hard worker, who dearly loved spending time with his family and helping others. He graduated Milton High School Class of 1969.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Blake.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Adele (Adams) Chalabala; a son, E.J. Chalabala and his wife Autumn of Lincoln; three siblings, Pete Chalabala, Maria Jerman and husband Tom, Bruno Chalabala and wife Sharon, all of Milton; and his beloved Golden Retrievers, Jammer and Cheyenne.

A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, April 29, in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal St., Milton. Burial will be private.
