Sept. 13 Chinese Auction fundraiser to benefit Pop Warner cheer squad
The Pop Warner Cape Vikings organization will hold its first Chinese Auction to benefit the cheer squad’s fundraising efforts from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 13, in the back fields of the Lewes School across from Shields Elementary School. The auction will include a variety of items and gift certificates donated from businesses throughout Sussex County. All funds raised will go directly to support the cheer team’s efforts to attend this year’s competition Sunday, Oct. 12, at Wicomico Civic Center in Salisbury, Md., as well as access to indoor practice space.
“We have been so overwhelmed by the outpouring of donations to help benefit this event from our local businesses,” said Pop Warner Cape Vikings Vice President of Cheer Melissa Bacher Rodriguez. “We are so excited to get these girls to competition and provide them with safe conditions to conduct their practices.”
The organization is also looking for business sponsors and private donors who are willing to help. Thanks go to those that have already contributed, including: Stephan & Co. Salon, Made Ya Look Salon, Irish Eyes, and Dormans Donut Shoppe. Anyone interested in making donations can send to Melissa Bacher Rodriguez at 19897 E. Hebron Road, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971; checks should be made out to Cape Henlopen Pop Warner.
