Annabella’s events to raise money and awareness
Annabella’s Italian Restaurant and Bakery in Lewes is participating in 7 Days of Giving, a program to help raise awareness about 109 homeless students in the Cape Henlopen School District and raise funds to help them.
Beginning Thursday, Dec. 2, and running through Wednesday, Dec. 8, Annabella’s will donate 15 percent of proceeds to the Cape Henlopen Homeless Program.
On special nights, live entertainment will be featured at the restaurant. From 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 4, Tim Vin Fischer, Delmarva’s Folk Hero of 2010, will perform. On Wednesday, Dec. 8, the finale begins with a silent auction 5 to 7 p.m.
At 6 p.m., an evening with Bryan Clark begins. Event admission is $35. There’s no charge for children under 12. Admission includes a three-course meal with choice of salad, entrée and dessert.
Restaurant owner Mike Spray said Cape district homeless students are members of homeless families living in cars, pop-up campers, tents and sometimes motels if someone pays for a room.
“People need to know there’s a problem and realize they have to help,” said Spray, who has been spreading word about the event. He said reservations are recommended for the finale. For more information, call program organizer Denise Hill at 302-349-5949.
