Ashley Furio, certified EMT

October 20, 2014

Ashley Furio, loving daughter, sister and friend, passed suddenly Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2014, at her home in Lewes.

Born May 18, 1989, she was a graduate of St. Elizabeth’s Elementary School and Padua Academy. Driven by her love of caring for others, Ashley was pursuing a degree in nursing and, in the meantime, obtained a Certified Nursing Assistant diploma. She also took her talents to Delaware State Fire School and was certified by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians as an EMT-Basic, becoming a proud member of Mill Creek Fire Company and, later, Lewes Fire Department. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time at the beach and surf fishing with her family and friends, searching for seashells and playing corn hole. Most of all, she enjoyed the simple things in life: playing with her beloved dogs, Elvis and Dewey, listening to her favorite music and simply hanging out with friends and her boyfriend Gesse.

Ashley is survived by her parents, Rose and David, her sister, Alicia, and her boyfriend, Gesse. Also among those who will always remember her are countless aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A Celebration of Ashley’s Life will take place from 10 a.m. to noon, Friday, Oct. 24, at the Hartefeld Country Club, 1 Hartefeld Drive, Avondale, Pa. Services begin at 12.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to either the Mill Creek Fire Company, 3900 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE 19808, or the Lewes Fire Department, 347 Savannah Road, Lewes, DE 19958. Arrangements by Mealey Funeral Homes.
