Delaware Community Foundation appoints five new directors
The Delaware Community Foundation recently announced the appointments of five new directors. They are Martha S. Gilman, Jennings P. Hastings, Lynn Adams Kokjohn, Ranney B. Ward and Dr. Harry L. Williams.
The Delaware Community Foundation manages charitable funds and distributes income from the funds as grants to nonprofit agencies throughout Delaware.
Lynn Adams Kokjohn of Rehoboth Beach is co-owner of Fauxbulous FX Inc., a faux finishing and decorative arts company she started in 2003 after retiring from DuPont. During her 23 years with DuPont, Kokjohn worked primarily in the Corian surfaces business as product manager and worldwide color development. She also worked as a continuous business improvement consultant for DuPont Korea Inc. based in Seoul and received Six Sigma Black Belt certification upon her return to DuPont in the states. She is a member of the Rehoboth Beach-Dewey Beach Chamber of Commerce and the Bethany-Fenwick Area Chamber of Commerce. She serves on the boards of the University of Delaware Alumni Association and The Wellness Community - Delaware, and is chairwoman of the Delaware Family Law Commission and the Sussex County Fund For Women. Kokjohn has a business degree from the University of Delaware.
Martha S. Gilman of Wilmington is the vice president and cofounder of Gilman Development Company, a land development and homebuilding firm, as well as Cornell Management Corp., a builder, owner and manager of affordable rental housing.
Harry L. Williams, EdD, of Dover, is the president of Delaware State University, an institution founded in 1891 with a long and proud history as one of America’s historically black colleges and universities.
In other appointments, Jennings P. Hastings, CPA/ABV, of Dover will serve the remaining term following D. Wayne Holden’s retirement from the board. Hastings is director of operations for Faw, Casson & Co. LLP, a certified public accountant and business consulting firm with offices in Dover and Ocean City, Md.
Ranney B. Ward, CFP, of Wilmington, chairman of the foundation’s Fund For Women, will serve on the board during her chairmanship. As a vice president and private banker with Wilmington Trust. Ward assists private banking clients with investment-related issues.
