The Parkinson’s Education and Support Group of Sussex County conducted a fundraiser March 10 at the Bob Evans Restaurant on Coastal Highway. Throughout the day, members of the group, their friends, families and neighbors stopped by for breakfast, lunch, dinner or just a snack. What they received from the management and staff at the restaurant was more than just a meal; the team at Bob Evans went out of their way to make everyone feel at home.
Funds raised that day will be used by the group to continue to provide exercise programs for its members and to help defray the costs of sending instructors for training in conducting Parkinson’s disease exercise programs. The group currently sponsors several exercise, yoga and tai chi classes and hopes to be able to add more classes this year.
Elaine Russo, event organizer, was appreciative of the support received from everyone at the restaurant. “We could not have asked for better service. The entire staff of Bob Evans was very supportive of our group. We truly appreciate what they did for us, how they took care of us. Thank you.”
