Delmarva Christian announces its Eagles Nest campus

May 13, 2015

Eagles Nest Christian Academy and Delmarva Christian High School recently announce that Eagle's Nest school and early learning center will become a part of the Delmarva Christian School system beginning with the 2015-16 school year.

Eagles Nest and Delmarva Christian have been strong partners since the start of DCHS over 10 years ago. Many of the graduates of Eagles Nest have gone on to complete their high school education at DCHS. This new arrangement will strengthen that partnership, and the curriculum at Eagles Nest will be enhanced to even better prepare students for high school at DCHS.

Eagles Nest Senior Pastor Bob Weed said, "We have been blessed to provide early learning, elementary, and middle school opportunities for many years as a part of our church ministry. Our board and leadership believed that this partnership with DCHS is the best way to strengthen Christian education opportunities in our area for years to come and to ensure the ongoing success of both schools. We are excited to have our longtime partner DCHS operate the educational component of our ministry. DCHS has become a leader in Christian education and will build on the foundation that has been established."

Delmarva Christian High School will assume leadership with the summer programs, and will be ready to offer the first DCHS primary school education starting in August. The school will now be known as Delmarva Christian Schools Eagles Nest Campus.

DCHS Board President Marlene Elliott Brown expressed the board's excitement at this opportunity saying, "We have been privileged to work alongside Eagles Nest Christian Academy since the day that DCHS opened its doors. We have seen many Eagles Nest students go on to graduate from Delmarva, and they are now making a difference in their communities. It is with much prayer and enthusiasm that we start this new journey."

DCHS Head of School Mike Vonhof said, "We believe strongly in the need for cutting-edge Christian education on the eastern side of Sussex County, and we look forward to building on the legacy that has been established by Eagles Nest. We are excited to get to know the current students and faculty, and to welcome new students for the 2015-16 school year."
