Charles J. Dean, retired from DuPont Co.
Mr. Charles J. Dean, 73, of Seaford, passed away peacefully Thursday, July 23, 2015.
Mr. Dean was born in Blades, to the late Franklin and Lillie Mae Pinder Dean. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by a son, Dennis Dean in 1986; and a sister, Shirley Messick.
Charles retired from the DuPont Co. in Seaford, where he was an electrical engineer. He was an assistant Scoutmaster of Troop 381 in Seaford. He enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening, hunting, crabbing and woodworking which was a passion of his. When his boys were young, Charles and his wife Anna would always plan a fun family vacation. Charles loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Charles is survived by his wife, Anna Dean of Seaford; two sons, Charles Douglas Dean Sr and his wife Anne Redden of Millsboro, and Michael D. Dean and his wife Lori of Seaford; six grandchildren, Ashley Marie, Chase, Jeremy, Hunter, Nick and Breanna, along with seven great-grandchildren, Jarett, Jackson, Jevan, Blake, Matthew, Wyatt,and Arabella; as well as extended family members and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, July 29 at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, where friends may call after 11 a.m. for viewing and visitation. Burial will follow at Oddfellows Cemetery in Seaford.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
