William Fleischauer III, Burris Logistics retiree

William Fleischauer III of Lewes, formerly of Greenwood, passed away at his home Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2015, after a long battle with cancer. He was called home peacefully, surrounded by his loving family.

Billy was born June 27, 1946, in Milford, to William Jr. and Nadine Fleischauer of Greenwood.

He graduated from Greenwood High School, Class of 1964, and Goldey-Beacom College with a degree in accounting.

Bill retired from Burris Logistics in Milford after 34 years. He served proudly in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserves for 30 years, retiring in 1996 with the rank of master chief.

Bill loved traveling, especially to Germany, which he did several times with his wife Donna. He enjoyed cruising to the Caribbean and to Canada and relaxing at his favorite spots in Chincoteague, Va. Bill also loved ships and classic cars, as well as spending time with his grandchildren and watching them grow. Bill was a member of Bethel UMC in Lewes and a member of the American Legion.

In addition to his parents, Bill is survived by Donna, his wife of 12 years. He is also survived by his daughters Karen Andes and her husband Lee, and Wende Parker and her husband Michael, both of Virginia; sister Eileen Haith and husband Randy of Dover, brother Gregory and wife Charlotte of Greenwood; grandchildren Heather Miller, Christian Andes, Karah Parker, and Kalah Parker, and great-grandson Nikolai Miller. Bill is also survived by his stepsons Mark Marrin of California and Kevin Marrin of Dover; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 22, at the Fleischauer Funeral Home, 16 West Market St., Greenwood. Friends may call Friday, Aug. 221 from 5 to 8p.m.

Interment will be in St. Johnstown Cemetery outside of Greenwood.
