October 22, 2015

Environmental advocates gathered for the second year to garner support for clean water in the Inland Bays at the Inland Bays Foundation's Love Our Inland Bays dinner.

The Oct. 7 event at Irish Eyes Pub & Restaurant in Lewes featured guest speaker Speaker of the House Rep. Pete Schwartzkopf, D-Rehoboth Beach, and honored attorney Kenneth Kristl, director of Widener University's Environmental and Natural Resources Law Clinic.

Kristl, who has worked on many pieces of environmental litigation in the First State, was honored for his commitment to the environment demonstrated by his pro-bono work for environmental justice.

"The Inland Bays are a jewel for the state of Delaware and to work to make it better, I can't think of a better thing to do," Kristl said as he accepted an award as this year's "Environmental Friend of the Inland Bays."

The Inland Bays Foundation focuses on promoting the restoration of the Inland Bays through education, outreach and working with state leaders. For more information, go to inlandbaysfoundation.org.
