Interim Minister, Rev. Paula Maiorano, speaks at the dedication, saying, "It is momentous, and on the behalf of the members of Unitarian Universalists, I welcome all." BY STEVEN BILLUPS

Board of Trustees President Deanna Duby delivers the Call to Worship saying, "Here find a house of welcoming. Here find vision and hope. Here be received as you truly are. May this place be a sanctuary, a place of meeting and of warmth and joy. A place of being encouraged, love and trust. May these walls know silence, music and the voices of children, as well as words of wisdom from an orator and words of comfort from a pastor. May the rain fall lightly on this house, may the sun shine warmly, may the winds blow gently, and may it be blessed as a place of peace. Today, as we dedicate this sacred space, we celebrate a dream awakening. For today is a day like no other, and it is ours to share with visioning action. Let us worship together and celebrate a dream awakening." BY STEVEN BILLUPS

The Unitarian Universalists of Southern Delaware dedicated their new sanctuary located at 30486 Lewes Georgetown Highway on Oct 18.
From its beginning, under an umbrella on the beach at Cape Henlopen State Park in 1996, to the purchase of "Pioneer Property" in 2014, the dedication of the completed, remodeled home into a sanctuary and gathering place is the culmination of this church's growth.
