Author and artist Elise Zoller to kick off Spotlight Series Jan. 29
Freeman Arts Pavilion’s 2026 Spotlight Series will feature more than 20 events, celebrating creativity in all its forms.
From inspiring speakers and live performances to cultural showcases, film screenings and behind-the-scenes experiences, the series brings the community together year-round to experience the transformative power of the arts.
In collaboration with regional artists and arts organizations, all events will be held at the Carl M. Freeman Foundation Office Building, 31255 Americana Parkway, Selbyville.
The series will kick off with “Author Chat: Standing on Main Street, The Story of America’s Route 66 in Paintings with Elise Zoller,” at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 29. Zoller will discuss select paintings and talk about personal encounters that shaped this visual journey across the heart of America.
“The Art of the Love Song” with Scott Smith and Jen Smith, husband-and-wife songwriting team, will be held at 4 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 15.
The film series spans a variety of artistic genres and is presented throughout the year. Each screening is followed by a moderated conversation led by Bill Newcott, Saturday Evening Post film critic and creator of AARP’s “Movies for Grownups,” alongside a guest community expert connected to the film’s theme.
Also featured is a September dance workshop series led by local instructor Renee Wight. Across four accessible, beginner-friendly classes, participants will be introduced to jazz, tap and line dancing in a welcoming and supportive environment. No prior experience is required.
