The Beacon Middle School girls’ basketball team moved to 4-0 on the season Dec. 13, with a 36-11 victory over Laurel Intermediate School.
Kha'Nihya Johnson led the Vikings with 16 points. Laura Lima knocked down eight points, while Maggie May dropped four. Mikaela Gordon scored three. Katie Kralevich and Anna Neustadter each scored two, while Kelly Neustadter hit a technical foul shot.
“We played a great game,” said Beacon assistant coach Sam Purple. “The girls shared the ball and everyone was involved in the win.”
“We just have to push it,” said Johnson. “We need to communicate and be energetic. Our high-pressure defense defines what kind of team we are. When our offense isn’t working, we rely on our tough defense.”
The Vikings will travel to Seaford Wednesday, Dec. 20, to match up with the Blue Jays.
