Beauty on display at Lewes Garden Tour

June 23, 2021

The 30th annual Lewes Garden Tour attracted hundreds of people to the First Town in the First State June 19 for a chance to peek into the beautiful backyards of some of its residents.

This year’s tour featured an eclectic selection of eight gardens, most within walking distance of downtown Lewes.

The 2020 event was canceled due to the pandemic, and this year’s tour was modified to meet Delaware Division of Public Health requirements.

The tour was created in 1990 by Mary Vessels, her brother Jack and sister-in-law Mickey as a way to share some of the city’s hidden gardens with neighbors and visitors.
