Bethany boardwalk arts festival adds wine tasting Sept. 9

The Bethany-Fenwick Area Chamber of Commerce will present the 45th Annual Bethany Beach Boardwalk Arts Festival from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 9, in downtown Bethany Beach.

New this year, Beach Liquors will sponsor a ticketed wine tasting event from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Harvest Tide Steakhouse second-floor event space, located in the heart of the festival at 98 Garfield Parkway, Bethany Beach. Offerings include light fare, and more than 60 wines will be featured through 12 tastings. Tickets cost $30 and are available for purchase at bethanybeachartsfestival.com. A portion of proceeds will benefit local elementary school art programs.

This annual arts festival hosts more than 100 juried artists displaying and selling their work. The featured artists bring unique creations representing a variety of different mediums including painting, photography, woodwork, metalwork, clay, baskets and jewelry.

Other special happenings include a children’s corner supported by Freeman Arts Pavilion, art demonstrations, a festival scavenger hunt and a silent auction that will benefit local elementary school art programs. All festival guests are encouraged to shop local businesses and explore the area’s many local art galleries.
