British artist Roger Dellar featured at Peninsula Gallery

The Peninsula Gallery will highlight the work of internationally known British oil painter Roger Dellar as its November featured artist.

A professional artist, Dellar works from his home studio in Surrey, England. He visits the United States frequently, and the Peninsula Gallery is his only American venue. Dellar’s art reflects his keen interest in people, their behavior and the way the play of light transforms a subject. His paintings capture everyday situations in public spaces, usually done plein air.

Dellar is equally as well known as a teacher of art. He has instructed at the Rehoboth Art League and hosts periodic workshops in Lewes. He is a member of The Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour, the Pastel Society and the Royal Institute of Oil Painters.

Dellar’s work includes various subjects – from chefs and dancers to boats and dogs – all presented in his iconic figurative style. This batch of works is so versatile that viewers are guaranteed to find something they fall in love with.

Eight new oil paintings from Dellar are on display throughout the month of November. Works can be previewed at peninsula-gallery.com.

Featured Artist of the Month is a new event produced by Peninsula Gallery to highlight the works created by different artists. The lineup of participants includes some of the gallery’s resident artists, repeat exhibitors and artists entirely new to the space.
