DJ Peggy Castle headlined the FEST Premiere Dance on Saturday, April 11. Photo courtesy of G. Michael Beigay. CAMP Rehoboth celebrated the silver anniversary of Women’s Fest April 9-12. For 25 years, Women’s Fest has brought fun, entertainment and tradition to all those on the spectrum of the feminine spirit.
Headlining the event were comedian Mina Hartong and singer Yoli Mayor. Friday night’s performance entertained a sold-out crowd at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center.
Hartong is a comedian storyteller who had the audience howling with her lesbian humor. She is the founder of Lez Out Loud. She calls herself the “fun lesbian aunt you always wanted.”
Mayor has been dubbed the Cuban Adele by Downtown Magazine. She has mastered a fusion of sounds as multicultural as her hometown.
A live auction was presented between Friday night acts with a guest auctioneer appearance by Lorne Crawford.
The weekend also featured sports tournaments, a vendor expo, dances and community partner events at local venues.
CAMP Rehoboth will continue to celebrate the Women’s Fest anniversary with programs and events throughout the year. Proceeds from Women’s Fest benefit CAMP Rehoboth, the largest LGBTQ+ community center in Delaware.
