Cape boys’ lacrosse hangs tough at play day

March 13, 2023

The Cape boys’ lacrosse team took to the turf March 11 for a windy, cold and damp play day with Malvern Prep from Pennsylvania and Severna Park from Maryland.

“We had two great tests for our team,” said first-year head coach Geoff Shupard. “We weren’t as fundamentally sound as we wanted to be against Malvern, and a good team like that is going to take advantage of those mistakes, which they did. I’m really proud of how the guys were able to regroup and put a more solid game together against Severna Park. We have a lot of work to do, but these guys showed a lot of fight today, and that’s a big positive to take away from it.”

The Vikings will open the regular season on the road Tuesday, March 21, at Episcopal Academy of Pennsylvania.
