Cape grad Raven Blakeney completes robotics internship

September 2, 2017

Raven Blakeney, a 2015 graduate of Cape Henlopen High School, and a junior at Virginia Tech, has just finished a summer internship at the Florida Institute for Human and Machine Cognition in Pensacola, Fla. He worked with a Boston Dynamics Atlas robot. The institute is working on having humans remotely operate humanoid robots in bipedal walking over different types of terrain.

Blakeney was a member of the 2014-2015 Cape Henlopen Robotics team that won both the Technology Student Association state competition for VEX robotics, and also the Mid-Atlantic regional underwater robotics competition for Marine Advanced Technology Education. That 2015 team also went on to compete in competitions in Newfoundland and in Texas.
