Cape unified basketball falls in three-point loss to Polytech

February 14, 2022

The Cape unified basketball team fell to 0-2 Feb. 10, with an 18-15 loss to Polytech at the Woodside campus.

The Vikings put up scores from six different players in the contest. Owen Smith paced the Vikings with four points, Declan Morrissey added three, and Alivia Heers, Noah Ryan, Alejandro Alvarez-Roman and Mason Morrone each tallied two points.

“It was a very high, intense game with amazing teamwork,” said Cape coach Jenn Hagan. “Having never played Polytech before, we were not sure what to expect, but my team rallied together and played hard making it an incredible game. In the end, coming up three points short doesn’t truly show how amazing the team played.”

Cape will host Caesar Rodney Wednesday, Feb. 16.
