The Circle in Georgetown from the air in 1970

September 19, 2018

This aerial photograph from March of 1970 shows downtown Georgetown and its Circle, and the streets radiating out from the center of town.

Lloyd Teitsworth and Dee Andrews made this image as part of a larger photographic project commissioned by the state of Delaware to capture images of landmark scenes from one end of the state to the other. The greatest majority of the photographs were made in the early spring of 1970 when there were few leaves on the trees, providing a clearer view of the ground scene.
