Clown car makes special appearance at Broadkill Beach Parade

July 7, 2016

A three wheel micro-clown car wowed spectators at this year's Broadkill Beach Independence Day Parade July 2. Automobile collector Dick Dussman of Hellum, Pa., brought one of his uncommon clown cars from his private collection for this special event.

The unique car is powered by a five-horsepower lawn mower engine sitting over the front drive wheel. The clown car team headed by Everett Erb of Broadkill Beach won third place for their division.

At the wheel of the clown car was Dick Dussman followed by clowns Eckert Erb of Milton and John Carter of Mount Joy, Pa., handing out balloon animals to the children along the parade route.
