Confucius to host ALS fundraiser for Team Ted Sept. 5

Confucius, at 57 Wilmington Ave., Rehoboth Beach will host the next ALS fundraiser starting at 5 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 5.  Reservations are suggested by calling 302-227-3848.

The public is invited to join Ted Pokorny, his wife Jo and Team Ted members to support the continued research for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (Lou Gehrig's disease) and enjoy dining at Confucius, voted Best Chinese Restaurant by both critics and customers in Delaware Today and other publications since its opening in 2004. The restaurant is known for its nice selection of fish entrees and Hunan-style spicy dishes.

Each month, a local restaurant hosts and contributes a portion of the dinner proceeds to Team Ted through the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of the ALS Association. For more information on the ALS Fundraising Dinner Club, call 302-703-2825.

Team Ted fundraising events continue from 4 to 9 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 8, at the 2nd Annual Art for the Cause: Art-a-paloozzzA Art Sale & Auction at the Breakers Hotel, 105 Second St., Rehoboth. Local artists have donated their work in varied media providing an opportunity for the public to purchase at affordable prices and together, they have contributed toward finding a cure for ALS.
