D.C. chef pleads not guilty to drug charges
A well-known Washington, D.C. chef pleaded not guilty Aug. 20 to drug-dealing charges in connection to a May 30 domestic incident in Lewes.
Massimo Fabbri, 40, represented by attorney Eugene Maurer, requested a jury trial in Delaware Superior Court as part of his plea. He was ordered to have no unlawful contact with his codefendant, Christina Lombardi, 36.
Fabbri and Lombardi’s next scheduled court appearance is a Sept. 23 case review in Georgetown.
Fabbri, chef at the popular San Lorenzo restaurant in D.C., was arrested by Lewes police after police received a 911 call about a woman yelling for help during a domestic dispute inside a gray BMW in the area of Savannah Road and Sussex Drive. Police said Fabbri and Lombardi both had injuries consistent with a fight. During the investigation, police said they found 191 grams of cocaine - street value $19,100 - and $3,200 in cash.
Fabbri and Lombardi have both been charged with drug dealing, and Fabbri is also facing a charge of offensive touching. A trial date has not yet been set.
