The Delaware Department of Transportation has installed two new all-way stop controls in downtown Milton.
The first is at the intersection of Chestnut/Wharton/Atlantic streets, while the second is at Mulberry/Federal/Wharton streets. DelDOT spokesman C.R. McLeod said the new stop controls were put in Oct. 15.
The town has long sought to have all-way stop controls put in at these two intersections, but the ultimate call on installing them was up to DelDOT, which maintains most of the main thoroughfares in downtown Milton. The town has put in sidewalk improvements at both intersections to improve handicapped access and to calm traffic.
