DelDOT to open new section of Lewes-to-Georgetown Trail

New section of trail opening
The newly constructed section of the Lewes-to-Georgetown trail from Log Cabin Road to Cool Spring Road is expected to be open this weekend. With a connection in Lewes, the trail extends to Cape Henlopen State Park and connects with the Junction and Breakwater Trail to Rehoboth Beach.

 

COVID-19 testing

State health officials will have a drive-through COVID-19 testing from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Sunday, May 24, at the Dover Division of Motor Vehicles, 303 Transportation Circle, Dover. Prior to attending, watch the following videos available in English and Spanish to learn about how to perform the test: English: de.gov/testing, in Spanish: de.gov/pruebas. Do not eat, drink, or brush your teeth 20 minutes prior to the test.

Pre-register at delaware.curativeinc.com to reserve a place and reduce wait time. Limited on-site registration will be available.

As additional testing sites are scheduled, more information will be provided on the testing section of the Delaware coronavirus website at:https://coronavirus.delaware.gov/testing/.

 

DMV by appointment only
Due to current health concerns, DMV is now by appointment only until further notice. Wednesday hours will be from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. for the foreseeable future with no evening hours. For information, https://de.gov/1Su

Holiday bus service

Over Memorial Day weekend in Sussex County, Routes 201, 204, 206 and 215 will operate their regularly scheduled service, with paratransit operating complimentary ADA-only service. All other DART services, fixed-route and paratransit, will not operate.

DART is limiting the number of passengers allowed on each bus at any given time, based on bus seating capacity. Passenger boardings are through the rear door with no fare collection. Riders needing boarding assistance may continue boarding through the front door. Riders must wear face coverings when riding any DART bus. Those not wearing face coverings will not be allowed to board the bus. Children 12 years and under are not required to wear a face covering nor are individuals who are unable to wear a face covering due to a medical condition; children ages 2 and under must not wear them.
